Easy Natural Ways To Keep Colds/Flu Away

Ah, fall and winter, a time to snuggle up with your favorite blanket, enjoying endless cups of tea...dreading the inevitable cold viruses that seem to attack every year. 

No Worries!  Believe it or not getting a cold is NOT an inevitable consequence of this time of year.

By follow a few simple preventative actions, you can greatly reduce the likelihood of catching it, or at least keep it short and weak. 

Here are some easy ways to avoid getting sick this cold season:

  • Wash your hands…a lot.
  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth, and eyes.
  • Eat raw garlic, lemon, and ginger.
  • Get outdoors for fresh air every day.
  • Avoid refined sugar and any foods containing additives and preservatives.
  • Get plenty of sleep.
  • Do fun things that make you happy. Laugh!
  • Eat lots of fresh colorful veggies and fruit.
  • Drink chamomile, ginger, and mint tea.
  • Take hot baths with lavender oil and Epsom salts.
  • Take a tablespoon daily of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (with Mother).
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking.
  • Take a multivitamin (with zinc and Vitamin D3).
  • Eat healthy snacks like fruit and nuts.
  • Exercise a few times a week; make sure you break a sweat.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Do a daily nasal rinse with a neti pot.
  • Make your own fresh juice and/or smoothie.
  • Avoid touching surfaces that lots of other people touch.
  • Take oregano oil at the first sign of any symptoms.
  • Get a monthly massage to relax and release toxins.
  • Sanitize the surfaces you use frequently, such as your phone, keyboard, computer mouse, door handles.
